“Happy Days’ Chachi (Scott Baio) and Joanie (Erin Moran) Enjoy a Beach Day, 1981

In this vintage photo, we see the popular television couple from ‘Happy Days’, Chachi Arcola (played by Scott Baio) and Joanie Cunningham (played by Erin Moran), enjoying a beach day in 1981. Beloved by fans of the immensely popular show, these characters got their own starring roles in the spin-off series ‘Joanie Loves Chachi’ in 1982.

The spin-off series not only focused on Chachi and Joanie, but also introduced characters such as Al Delvecchio (played by Al Molinaro), Chachi’s stepfather and former owner of the fictional Arnold’s Drive-In from ‘Happy Days’. Chachi’s mother, Louisa Delvecchio (played by Ellen Travolta), was also part of this continuation of ‘Happy Days’. Later, Travolta and Baio reunited in 1984 for the successful American television sitcom ‘Charles in Charge’, where they once again played a mother-son duo.
