## PETER PARKER HAS GOT COMPETITION

Now, before all you superhero buffs start hollering that there ain’t no Spider-Woman, you might wanna crack open a comic book or two. In the comic book world, Spider-Woman is totally a thing, and the name’s been used by a whole bunch of different women in the Marvel Comic Universe. The OG Spider-Woman was Jessica Drew, a woman whose dad injected her with a spider-blood serum to save her life.

Julia Carpenter also swung into the Spider-Woman gig, while Gwen Stacy rocked the role in an alternate universe. Given how crazy popular the “Spider-Man” comics were, the creators were kinda paranoid that someone would swipe their idea and whip up a Spider-Woman of their own. So, they decided to protect their turf by introducing one themselves.
