# THE ORIGINAL SIN

In biblical tales, Eve took a bite outta the forbidden fruit, tempted by Satan in the guise of a snake, she did. This led to the eviction of Eve and Adam from Paradise. This painting depicts the scene where a snake’s slitherin’ over the woman’s body and legs as she reaches for the apple on her chest.

This event’s been depicted in art for ages, like in Peter Paul Rubens’ painting, “The Fall of Man.” You can even find depictions in the Catacombs of Marcellinus and Peter in Rome. This scene inspired John Milton to write an epic poem and Mark Twain to pen some humorous diaries.
