The Most Absurd ‘Emergency’ Calls Police Actually Received

Someone’s Playing Recorder at 2 A.M.

In Wisconsin, a woman called police to report a “crime against ears.” Apparently, her neighbor’s child was learning to play the recorder—and practicing in the middle of the night.

She described it as “audio terrorism” and said it sounded like “a goose being tortured with a kazoo.” Officers visited the home and kindly suggested the child use headphones… or pick a quieter hobby. Like drumming.
