Bobbi and Kenny McCaughey were over the moon when their beautiful baby girl arrived in 1996. Considering Bobbi had been facing down pituitary gland issues—a pesky condition that doesn’t exactly help when you’re trying to have a baby—they saw their little Mikayla Marie as nothing short of a miracle wrapped in a pink blanket.
But they weren’t ready to hang up the diaper bag just yet. Feeling hopeful and inspired, the McCaugheys began dreaming of expanding their family. One child was great—but they had room in their hearts (and soon, as it turned out, a lot more room in their home) for more.
