Chinese fruit snacks and gummies can pose health hazards. Some products contain plasticizers—chemicals used in plastics—to fake a chewy texture. These additives are banned in many countries and can harm liver function.
Illegal dyes and sweeteners are also common in cheaper brands. These bright, colorful snacks are often aimed at children. Repeated exposure could affect hormones or brain development. Poor labeling hides many of the harmful ingredients.
