When Your Cat Looks Suspicious in an Attempted Murder

Trying to understand the inner workings of a cat’s mind is like trying to read ancient scrolls without a Rosetta Stone—mysterious, confusing, and occasionally terrifying. And when it comes to feline-feline relationships? Even murkier.

Take this scene, for example: one cat sprawled out motionless, the other looming above like a fluffy villain straight out of a noir film. Is it a cuddle session? A power move? An attempted murder? The jury’s out. The cat on the bottom could be peacefully asleep—or peacefully deceased. Hard to tell.
But what really seals the moment is the cat on top. The expression? Utterly suspicious. Like it knows it’s doing something questionable, and it doesn’t care. That subtle side-eye says, “You saw nothing, human.”
