The Wrist Roller
This device consisted of a stick attached to a weight via a rope. Users rolled the stick to wind the rope and lift the weight, aiming to strengthen wrists and forearms.
Though simple, the wrist roller required careful use to avoid repetitive strain injuries. Beginners often used excessive weight, leading to tendonitis or wrist sprains. While still used today in strength training, early versions lacked safety features and guidance, making them prone to accidents.
