Gulal Gota Festival – India
Before Holi comes Gulal Gota, a lesser-known but equally strange celebration in Rajasthan. Here, locals gather to throw specially made clay balls filled with colorful powder at one another. Think dodgeball meets paint warfare, set against the backdrop of temples and chants.
The goal? To hit the opposing side with as many gulal bombs as possible. It’s playful and aggressive, but ultimately celebratory—symbolizing the triumph of color, joy, and the human spirit. With the sky exploding in pigments and the ground coated in chaos, it’s a vibrant WTF moment that’s uniquely Indian.
