With a gross domestic product (GDP) exceeding $105 billion in 2015, folks in Dubai sure know how to flaunt their wealth. One way they do it is by owning wild exotic animals like baboons, monkeys, and lions.
Owning the most expensive exotic wildlife used to be a status symbol in Dubai, a real sign of wealth and prestige. Now, anyone caught flouting the ban faces six months in the slammer or a hefty fine of $136,000.
