Crystals with Soot Sprites Inside?
When most people see this photo, they probably think the strange-shaped black objects inside the clear crystal are fossilized little spiders trapped in the rock. But alas, that’s not the case. It’s not a swarm of tiny black spiders, but rather an inclusion of a mineral called “mannardite.” That’s the real identity of the black specks you see inside this crystal.

Mannardite minerals come in various shapes and sizes. Sometimes, like in this crystal, they appear as small, scattered specks, while other times they look like a single, larger object. It kind of reminds me of Soot Sprites from Studio Ghibli movies….
