Lake Pontchartrain Causeway (USA)

This bridge, also located in the United States, is called the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway because it spans Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana. It’s a toll road with a total length of 38.42 km. Just thinking about it, that’s nearly a full marathon one way, which is an insane distance. The toll is $3 one way and is only collected when traveling from Mandeville on the north side. Previously, it was $1.50 and collected from both sides of the bridge, but it was changed to $3 on one side to alleviate congestion.

By the way, the scenery while driving on the bridge isn’t that spectacular, so some people who have actually driven it have said it was “boring.” It used to be the longest continuous bridge in the world and was registered in the Guinness Book of World Records, but it has since been surpassed by an even longer bridge.
