Capilano Suspension Bridge (Canada)
The Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver, Canada, has been a major draw for tourists since it opened in 1889. This slender bridge, measuring 450 feet in length and 230 feet in height, is suspended above the Capilano River, offering stunning views of the evergreen forest canopy. While it sways and wobbles, the bridge is considered relatively safe thanks to its railings.
The Capilano Suspension Bridge is known as one of Canada’s top tourist destinations. It features several points of interest, including the suspension bridge itself, Indigenous art displays, the Cliffwalk along the edge of the canyon, woodland trails, and treetop rope bridges. What’s more, the site is open year-round. From mid-November to the third week of January, the bridge hosts the world-renowned “Canyon Lights” Christmas event. Seasonal events, including shopping and dining experiences, are also held from June to October.
