The Man Who Was Struck by Lightning Seven Times
Roy Sullivan, an American park ranger, was struck by lightning a staggering seven times between 1942 and 1977 – and survived each incident. He sustained serious injuries: burns, deafness, and psychological trauma. Nevertheless, he consistently returned to his work in the national park.
He was recognized by Guinness World Records and became known as “the human lightning rod.” Despite his fame, he felt persecuted by fate and became increasingly withdrawn. His tragic story ended in 1983 with his suicide – not by lightning, but by despair.
