The Beginning of Life

Nadia Suleman was born on July 11, 1975, in Fullerton, California. Her father was of Assyrian and Iraqi descent and later became a real estate agent. Her mother was a teacher from Lithuania, and Nadia was an only child. While her parents showered her with love, it seems she still craved connection with more people. Growing up in a small family environment might have sparked her desire for a large family later in life.

Being an only child gave Nadia a unique perspective. The love from her parents was unconditional, but she wasn’t satisfied with just that and longed to build broader relationships. This feeling probably led to her bold choices later in life. Her childhood experience became the foundation for her strong attachment to the concept of family, eventually leading her to become “Octomom.”
