Making It Official
With their hearts set on Nyx, the Johnsons began filling out the adoption forms. The paperwork was lengthy, but their excitement never wavered. Mr. Johnson signed the final document and looked at his wife with a smile. “This feels like the start of something great,” he said.
Mrs. Johnson nodded in agreement, her eyes on the kids who were already playing with Nyx. “He’s exactly what we needed.” Once everything was finalized, the shelter staff congratulated them and walked them to the car. As they drove home, Nyx rested quietly in the backseat, officially the newest member of the Johnson family.
