A Vivid Dream

In the early hours before dawn, Jake slipped into a vivid dream. He was a small child again, walking through a dense, towering forest.

The trees loomed above him, casting long shadows. Though intimidating, the place felt familiar—almost safe. The wind rustled softly through the leaves, and the ground crunched beneath his feet.

The realism of the dream startled him. It didn’t feel imagined. It felt remembered.
