When Your Cat Looks Suspiciously Like It’s Attempting Murder

Trying to understand a cat’s mind is like reading ancient scrolls without a Rosetta Stone—mysterious, confusing, and sometimes downright terrifying. And when it comes to cat-on-cat relationships? Forget about it, it’s a total enigma.

Take this scene, for example: One cat is sprawled out, completely limp, while the other is perched on top like a furry villain straight out of a noir film. Is it a hug? A display of dominance? An attempted murder? The jury’s still out. The cat on the bottom could be peacefully sleeping or peacefully deceased; it’s really hard to tell.

But what seals the deal is the look on the top cat’s face. Utterly suspicious, like they know they’re up to no good and couldn’t care less. That subtle side-eye is screaming, “Human, you saw nothing, right?”
