Men Applied Chicken Feces to Their Heads to Cure Baldness
Hair loss has always been a sensitive topic for many men, but in the 16th century, the “cures” were more horrifying than helpful. One particularly bizarre remedy involved mixing chicken feces with potassium and slathering that concoction onto the scalp.
This sticky, smelly lotion was supposed to stimulate hair growth, but—unsurprisingly—it didn’t work. It just left men stinky, disappointed, and still bald.
