No Utensils Were Used for Eating

Back in medieval times, forks weren’t a thing, and knives and spoons were rare. Most folks ate with their hands—hands that were rarely washed. Hygiene wasn’t exactly a top priority, so meals were basically a bacterial buffet.

Between the grime under fingernails and sharing dishes, it’s a wonder anyone made it through dinner alive. Let’s take a moment to appreciate the fork and soap!
