Outdated hygiene practices that are anything but clean

Back in the day, hitting the loo was a whole different ball game.

In ancient Rome, taking a dump was a social shindig. People would sit cheek-to-cheek in public benches without any dividers, just chatting away while doing their business. And forget toilet paper; they used sticks wrapped in cloth, leaves, or even sponges.

From where we’re sitting now, the whole setup was seriously unhygienic and majorly awkward. And bless the poor souls who had to clean those public latrines… probably one of the crappiest jobs ever.
