WESLEY SNIPES – IN PRISON

Wesley Snipes, at 62, is a household name among action movie buffs, standing out as one of the few Black actors to really make a splash in the genre. Back in the ’80s, his career took off with a cameo in Michael Jackson’s “Bad” music video, paving the way for his massive success in the Blade franchise in the ’90s and 2000s. He was the definition of charisma and skill on screen, shining as the vampire hunter.

However, things took a turn in 2006 when he was charged with tax evasion, leading to a prison sentence from 2010 to 2013. Snipes used to be a rising star; now, in 2025, he’s trying to rebuild his career. Prison didn’t bankrupt him—his net worth is still around $10 million—but it did shake up his career. After getting out, he came back with roles in Dolemite Is My Name (2019) and Coming 2 America (2021), and there are whispers of a return as Blade in the MCU. Despite all this, the old spark hasn’t fully returned. Snipes lives a more private life, focusing on smaller projects and production, showing resilience, but far from the peak he once enjoyed.
